The politics of dance praxis as research

 

In this fourth meeting of Artistic Migrations we invite Bojana Kunst and Mårten Spångberg to have a conversation on the praxis of dance as research. 

They will tackle questions such as the specificity of research metodologies in dance, the origins and reasons of the relevance of this concept in current dance praxis, as well as its political dimension in the current context of postcapitalist economy. It is about testing possible demarcations of the field of dance as research instead of accepting the criteria imposed from outside. Other goal consist of finding the appropriate space in which choreographers and dancers are the ones who define what they do understand as research before their action will be absorbed by the market. 

 

Dimensión política de la danza como investigación

En esta cuarta estación de Migraciones Escénicas invitamos a Bojana Kunst y Mårten Spångberg a mantener una conversación sobre la praxis de la danza como investigación. 

En ella abordarán cuestiones como la especificidad de la metodogía de la investigación en danza, los orígenes y las razones por las que la investigación se ha convertido en un concepto relevante en la praxis de la danza hoy en día, así como su dimensión política en el contexto actual de economía postcapitalista. Se trata de ensayar demarcaciones del territorio de la praxis de danza como investigación en lugar de adoptar los criterios que se le aplican desde fuera; con ello se intenta buscar el espacio adecuado para permitir que sean los propios creadores quienes definan qué entienden por investigación, antes de que su acción acabe siendo absorbida por el mercado.
