Collaborations and exchanges
The MPECV proposes a porous form of situating itself in the city of Madrid. Over the years it has established collaborations of diverse kinds with institutions and centers of contemporary art, festivals and research groups, in such a way that various modules of the program have benefited in many cases from this preexisting offer. In this sense partnerships have emerged with festival such as In- presentable or Escena Contemporánea, which have been partly incorporated to the program, or interacted with expositions such as Losing the human form, workshops such as Composition in Real Time
by Cláudia Dias, amongst many other examples. In other cases, we have planned joint activities, such as the conference series Art / Time, Rethinking Spectatorship, or the international seminar There is no more poetry than action, among many others. Finally, from the MPECV we have created our own contexts that we’ve opened up and shared, such as the project Artistic Migrations, the laboratory Social Spaces, the conference Seeeeeeeeeelf -learning , - management -organisation! in Teatro Pradillo and the presentations of students' projects, among many others. All of this is orientated towards facilitating the insertion of participants into the artistic reality of the city favoring encounters with artists, researchers, managers and curators who interact in all of these contexts in which we situate ourselves and which we contribute to create.
Beyond the immediate environment of the city of Madrid, we have established networks with spaces and programs with whom we share the same understanding of art practice as research and an open understanding of the performing arts. Azala - espacio de creation in the Basque Country gives up its facilities to the MPECV annually for two to four weeks for the organization of workshops and artists residencies. We have established cooperative agreements with related international programs, such as the MITAV (Interdisciplinary Master in Theatre and Live Arts) at the Nacional University of Columbia (Bogota), the MA/MARes Performance and Creative Research at the University of Roehampton (London), as well as participated in the Intensive Programs organized by a network of 6 European masters coordinated by the MA SODA (HZT, Berlin) and the Master in Choreography (TeaK, Helsinki).
